Before your hot tub visit
How to prepare for a hot tub service visit
Good preparation gives a service visit a clear starting point. The aim is to provide safe access, useful history and an honest picture of the current water and equipment condition; owners do not need to dismantle or diagnose the system.

The day before
Confirm the address, access route, parking and any gate or key arrangements. Clear loose items around the tub and make sure the equipment cabinet can be reached. If the tub is enclosed, check that the technician can work without moving heavy furniture or entering an unsafe space.
Leave the water in place unless the booking specifically asks for a drain-down. Record the water level, current temperature, recent water treatment and any visible warning. Put the model details, manuals and previous service notes somewhere easy to find.
Bring the useful history
A short timeline is more useful than a guess about the failed part. Note when you first saw cloudy water, low flow, a noise, a leak or a control message. Mention recent refill, filter change, frost, power interruption, cover replacement or work by another company.
Photograph the control display and the outside of the cabinet if this can be done safely. Do not remove electrical covers, disconnect pipework or handle chemicals for the sake of a photo.
- Make and model, if known.
- Symptoms, timing and any error codes.
- Recent drain, refill, filter clean or repair.
- Safe access details and photos of visible symptoms.
During the visit
Ask what has been inspected, what is confirmed and what remains uncertain. A service can identify maintenance needs while a fault may need a separate repair plan or part. Ask what you should monitor after the visit and what signs mean you should stop using the tub. This keeps the decision grounded in the installation rather than assumptions.
Common questions
Should I drain the hot tub before a service?
Not unless Blue Forge Servicing asks you to for the planned work. Confirm the preparation when booking because the required water level depends on the service.
Do I need to add chemicals before the visit?
Do not add an unplanned treatment to change the result. Share the current readings or routine and let the service assess the water condition.
What if the equipment cabinet is hard to reach?
Mention it when booking. Access, decking and enclosure details help establish what can be inspected safely and whether another arrangement is needed.
